Northeast Wisconsin Retina Associates

Most patients seen by a retinal specialist are referred by an optometrist or a general ophthalmologist. This is however not mandatory. If a patient has an established retinal or macular disease, he/she is free to request referral to a retinal physician or independently seek an additional opinion to pursue necessary care under the direction of a retinal physician. Typically, treatment by a retinal specialist is coordinated with your primary eye care provider and in many cases, also your primary care physician.
